I completely disagree with those who are of the view that Dev D is not rich in entertainment.. Dev D is full of entertainment provided that you have a brain and aesthetic sense to appreciate and understand a genuine and unique kind of cinema and should get out of the typical masala, paisa vasool kinda bollywood mode.
Dev D is the story of Devdas but in a modern avatar with the reasoning and situations and also the characters with which we-the new generation can relate very easily, despite of the old Devdas' Devdas who died because of a selfish and emotional woman who got married out of anger and emotions to an old man and father of grownup children...
And also not of an unbelievable chandra mukhi who lved the life of sins all her age and suddenly out of no reason became a bhakt and tapassiyaani just for an ordinary human being like her..Here the role of Chandra muhki is not shown as orn and brough up but she was a normal girl who was trapped in this life, so her reactions an decisions are very much beleivable.
Not only the scipt but the direction is also of top-notch quality. those who loved Black Friday will also love this piece of beautiful and genuinely hatke cinema.... but the lovers of overhyped shitts like Main hoon na, Om shanti om, welcome, kal ho na ho, kabhi alvida na kehna, Biwi Number one and similar utter craps...plz stay away
