But mind it Dev D is not some simply seedhi saadi feel good movie with a smooth and crisp narration, it has a profound and abstract feel to it that is the beauty and soul of Dev D. These 2 factors were also in No Smoking but there these were extreme in nature and were a lot that's why no smoking was undigested to most of the viewers, but here Anurag now knows how to balance the unconventional approach towards film-making at the backdrop of a very conventional script and he is extremely successful this time.
Story is loosely inspired by original Devdas and to compare it with Saigal's, dilip kumar or even shahrukh's Devdas will be a straight foolishness because Dev D has its own class and school of thought to it. Anurag is in complete form this time after his first gem Black Friday. Screenplay is awesome and do not gives u any time to think. Cinematography is excellent and as we all knows that music is already chart buster. As far as performances are concerned, all actors are of top notch especially Abhay and the girl who played Chandra Muhki's(Chanda) role. All in all a GREAT film and superb cinema experience. MUST WATCH.
