STUDIO 1435: A great loss. Review on Dell Studio 14

Hi guys, this is santanu from guwahati. I bought my Dell studio 1435 laptop in August 2009 from a broker at siliguri. Config- 320 gb hard disc, 4 gb ram, 14" screen, 2 mp webcam, core2duo, original windows vista and a 15 months subscription to McAfee. No fingerprint detector but face recognition. It was the only studio series left there with the seller. The first thing I noticed bad is that the laptop has a sticker stating it as intel centrino on it, but when I check the properties of My Computer, it was rightly displaying as core2duo. The seller said that, a wrong sticker is pasted on it. Then, I noticed, a ball-pen scratch beside the webcam. That is seems negative to me but I was then blind to Dell Studio. Now after using almost 3 months, I am using the following problems-

1. The system shows Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) 7days before. [ Dump & minidump files created] 2. After logging in successfully, again ask for Password, within 5-10 seconds. 3. Shows missing DVD after running of continuous 2-3 hours. Then it needs a restart. [ This laptop has no CD/DVD tray, but a covered slot and thats seem cool.. :)] 4. The McAfee has been registered to its website but still unable to take updates and always shows concerning messages. 5. Particular switches like the Colon-semicolon button getting typed automatically when typing in excel though it was untouched or pressed. 6.

The Battery meter shows wrong messages about remaining time. Within 1 minute it sometimes show a decrease of 8-12 % battery life that is absurd. 7. The webcam is 2mp but has worse picture quality than my 1.3 mp mobile camera! 8. The Adopter is flat type and might act as electric iron after 1 hours of use. [so hot] 9. The Sound cracks when increased and it is very frightening. [have realtec] 10. It has no plastic/sticky covers on speakers and touch-pads as it was usually supplied with a new laptop while purchased. I cross checked it with my friends Inspiron, and its ok. Though its not a big issue but ensure the originality.

Friends, I do'nt know whether I have been cheated by the Broker/seller or by the company, but at the end of the day I feel sorry for myself and my Rs. 44, 200/- that I donated to Dell.
