I am frustrated after purchasing a new Dell laptop from factory outlet at lamington road, Mumbai. The pain started right from the beginning when I paid the full payment on 15th Jan 2011 with a commitment that I’ll get the delivery in 7 working days by paying additional 900/- RS but the order was generated after 5 days and I got the item delivered on 5th of February 2011 which was too late to accept. (Customer number: 782087483). There after it took more than 2 weeks to be usable because of hopeless customer support. When I purchase hardware they must provide me driver cd along with it, it’s my obvious expectation. Dell did not provided me any hardware driver cd, the only cd I got is free doc OS cd. Getting all the drivers from internet was big pain as it was 908 MB (additional 200mb for web cam and etc.
Downloaded later). Dell inspiron N5010 model does not have windows 7 32 bit drivers on net which is most commonly used. So I had to reinstall OS again in windows 7 in 64 bit. Meanwhile customer support eaten up my head installing hopeless drivers in 32 bit which never worked. Even after installing 64bit OS finally the most important driver i.e. for LAN card was not being installed properly and I was not able to connect to internet for next 15 days, Wherein I spend lot of time with customer support to get LAN drivers installed which was not fruitful at all except one Geneon technician (Shivam Shrivastav) rest all were blaming the OS and eating up my time suggesting foolish things to do.
I asked them to send executive to home and fix the issue to which they were talking arrogantly and were not ready to listen to me, all that happened after purchasing additional warranty for complete coverage by paying some additional 750/- RS. I am so frustrated with this laptop that I am thinking to sell it off and get rid of it.
