Damaged Shipment due to mishandling and negligence

I am a start up. I deal in packed food products. All food products are ex-factory packed in glass jars in defined and advisable commercial corrugated packaging, bubble wraps, proper strapping, Fragile instructions adhering to all safety norms.


I registered my company with DELHIVERY for the first time in August 2022 considering the shipping price cheaper than my existing logistic partner. What a grave mistake on my part. I was assured by the delivery customer care executive (Syed Qadre) that Shipments that are Fragile will be given utmost care and handled separately.


A compensation of up to Rs. 2000/- per shipment would be reimbursed if damaged. What a lie... Neither he mentioned to me nor there is a clause in the contract that some exceptional food items do not fall in the reimbursement eligibility.


I had sent 17 Shipments within 2 days. Each Shipment is worth Rs.30, 000/-.


Today on September 1st, to my utter shock I get to know that all shipments are damaged and broken in transit. All the shipments were being sent to different parts of the country from one particular fulfillment centre at Dankuni in Kolkata.


On further probing, the Delhivery pick-up person (Sujoy), the Kadapara package unloading/ reloading coordinator (Kumud), the Dankuni fulfillment centre coordinator (Chandan Singh), I get to know that fragile shipments are neither loaded/handled carefully nor they follow any instructions that are mentioned on the shipment boxes.


The loaders and unloaders mishandle every shipment. All shipments are just dumped together in trucks. Neither they are bothered nor the company is bothered if shipments are damaged in transit.


The person Kumud and Chandan Singh accepted that during loading the shipments in different trucks, the labourers mishandled and shipments were damaged.


DELHIVERY don't have any customer care number. Everytime you have to email them to raise an issue.


I raised this issue with Delhivery and realised that I have fallen prey in the hands of these cheaters and fraudsters. Some, Ms. Lobo gives excuses and completely denies the reimbursement and also gives lecture to me on packaging guidelines.


As I have mentioned that I am a startup and this kind of experience is a setback for people like me. I have suffered huge losses because of DELHIVERY. I will take this up legally and on social media platforms.


They are Cheaters... They do not deserve any star. Boycott DELHIVERY..
