As a alumnus of Netaji Subash Institute of Technology (formerly Delhi Institute of Technology) I just got to say that the college is definitely one of the best in delhi.
I stayed in the hostel for 4 years, and had a jolly good time there.
There are currently 5 courses on offer :
Computer Engineering
Electronics & Communication Engineering
Instrumentation & Control Engineering (my branch)
Manufacturing & Automation Engineering
and the recently introduced IT Engineering
There is talk currently of introduction of Biotech Engineering. This college was setup apart from Delhi College of Engineering to get students into the IT sphere. DCE has the core engineering branches (Chemical, Mechanical, etc.).
The faculty of the Electronics branch in NSIT is one of the best in the country. The faculty of the other branches too are good, but not as good. The courses provided for all the branches are very relevant and informative. I currently am working, and have noticed that the students passing out from NSIT do manage to do very well in life.
As regards to placement (bottom line, eh?) NSIT is doing very well. Just this year the college had nearly 80% placement in just 5 days. I think the placement incharge (and I have personal contact with him) has done a great job there.
The saddest part is the extra curriculars, which are nearly non-existant! the main field (football field) lies in a dilapidated condition.
By the way, the fest of the college this year had go-karting! :) There is a technical fest too, which is a great learning forum for students.
Admission to NSIT & DCE is through CEEE.
