If you are a Salmaan Khan fan then this movie will make you his A/C!

Tthe much awaited movie of the handsome hunk arrives and arrives with a BANG! Must say it was a visual treat. The promotion of the movie was done on a very high scale and the curiosity was evident at the cinema halls.

When I reached at E-Square to collect my ticket (Booked through BMS) there were at least 20 people ahead of me and at least 8 left the window since the show for Dabaang were booked till 3.00 PM. House Full opening!!! This is what happens when Macho man is around.

The plot of the movie, as was clear from the promos, is related to a crook and 21st Century cop. Chulbul Pandey (Salmaan Khan) is a man in Khakee and he has his own style of dealing with the bandits/dacoits in Uttar Pradesh. He calls himself "Robin Hood Pande" and keeps doing his Chulbulee masti throughout the film. Chulbul stays with his family which has his step father – Prajapati Pandey (Vinod Khanna), step brother Makkhan Pandey (Arbaaz) and his mother played by Dimple Kapadia. He is not very happy with his family and believed that he is treated inferior. This inferiority complex and practical approach he becomes a Cop and now turns the world at his feet. How he does his “Adakaari” is what you will see in “Dabangg”

The new avatar of SK is very convincing and may be would be a mania in the crowd for sure. Big moustaches, Ray Ban goggle Bullet/Jeep, and Khakee makes a deadly combination and worth every penny to watch. With the character in grip, the story/plot was not upto the mark and may be that was the intention too. The directors’ attempt here was to present the macho man of the industry in a different avatar coupled with comedy and romance. To some extent he has done that successfully.

The movie belongs to Sallu and his persona and he fits the bill too perfectly. If we look around and try to compare our heroes to the one from Hollywood, then Salmaan should top the list wtih Akki very close to him in that slot. He is a fantastic actor and in this movie he proves yet again as to why people love his acting and charm.

Sonakshi Sinha was introduced in this movie and must say that she has done a good job as a new comer especially when against SK.Iin the entire movie the total lines that she must have said would not cross an A4 sheet. But still she makes her presence felt. A secret problem is that she looks very similar to Eisha Deol and this could cost her dearly. I heard someone in the hall saying "Yeh toh Eisha Deol hai … Wapas aa gayee kya?" (Is Sonakshi reading this?) But But But, she can act!!! and perhaps that the major difference between the two actresses. And actor parents shall make sure that their daughter reach heights. All the best to her.

Somu Sood has come a far way from Yuva to Dabangg. This man has grown into a muscular beast and he is appearing tough and in the likes of John Abraham. In Dabangg he is playing a local political leader with a negative role. To some extent he has done a fair job but wasn’t that much raw as you would expect. His grips over the character was artificial and somewhat below average. In the first half he was copying Amitabh Bacchhan and in the later part he recovered and saved his reputation.

Vinod Khanna and Dimple did a good job and did justice to their roles. And finally, Makkhan Pandey (Arbaaz Khan) no matter what happens, he will never learn to act! He looks good, has good style but as soon as he tries to act, you would wish to be somewhere else.... Sorry but I cant digest him!

The songs are super cool and are already big hits. The best of the lot is "Munni..... just a super cool song and in theater it ROCKS! The background music is good and the cinematography is top class.

I felt that the action scenes were way too much and you would recall "Tashan". The problem was Tashan was style with no meat and it was disaster. "Dabangg" is somewhat on the same lines. But here we have SK to take things in control and his acts will make you happy and entertained.

My personal opinion would be that the script would have a bit more tighter and a bit more focused. There are few scenes like marriage of Chulbul that were out of the box and unparrell to the plot and completely un required. May be the culprit was the editing but the story should have been more convincing and not just a fairy tale. Since the target was not to present "Aan - Men at work" the treatment given to this flick was light and slanting towards comedy. So a closely senseless plot could considered as an excuse for Dabangg.

Finally, watch Dabangg for SK alias Chulbul Pandey in an exclusive style and be entertained.
