D day is a plot revolving around the Don who is based in Karachi after masterminding the 1993 Mumbai blast.  Raw is under tremendous pressure to somehow capture or kill the Don, who is known as Goldman ( Iqbal played by Rishi Kapoor) After the brutal massacre of Osama bin Laden on 1st May 2012 in Abottabad.

Obama ensured his re-election by ordering the assassination of Osama. They could have easily captured him alive, because he was totally taken by surprise by American commandos in the middle of the night. Raw activates its contacts in Karachi with a barber ( Wali Ali /Irfhan Khan, driver, IT savvy lady ( Zoya/Huma Quresi ) and ex army commando ( Rudra pratap singh/Arjun Rampal) forming a core team.

The idea is to blow out the don when he visiting his son on his nikaah at a star hotel. How the plot goes through ups and downs is beautifully picturised in the shoot out and crisp dialogue delivery. The plot fails due to the goof up.  Raw headquarters is tarnished and ISI is hot on trial of the intruders.

I have always believed that ISI gave up the hideout of Osama for the bounty on his head, which they must have secretly claimed after Osama was taken out. Osama was guilty of masterminding terror attacks across the world on US interest, but our Don has been carrying out innumerable terror attacks to protect the interest of the minority in Europe and India.

Indian govt should do take advantage of the split in ISI and ensure that the most wanted man is bought to books.  Who knows he can be delivered to the doorste Shruti Hassan has an interesting role to play as a hooker, but the dramatization of her character was the key to her role. She needs to act in such serious movies rather than trying commercial masala which is bound to decrease her acting talent.

Of course with this role she has opened up plenty of opportunity coming her way. The Movie progresses with a brisk pace with conspiracy and flash backs. Cinematography and dialogues are the hall of this movie.

It will definitely capture the imagination of serious movie viewers. Worth a watch, and sadly the movie is dedicated to Ponty Chadda who was brutally killed in a shoot out. Hope Nikhil Advani directs a movie on Ponty Chadda and his brutal assassination.
