I am an ardent coffee drinker (and most of you know I smoke from my Mantri review). I visit coffee shops a lot because I don't take milk with my coffee - which unfortunately is not available elsewhere from cafes and restaurants.
A couple of days ago I found the Cuppa located just off the 80 ft road in Indranagar. The place where this Cafe is located is quite interesting. It is diagonally opposite to one of Bangalore's older and more famous stops - Cafe Coffee Day. But I am sure it will ot be long before Cuppa - Indranagar will be spoken of more than the CCD.
The building was originally a house, I believe, from the decor. It had rooms which most definitely were meant to be bed rooms and living rooms. There are two floors in the joint and the ground floor has a division for smokers and non smokers.
Decorated beautifully with candles and elegant furniture it is a welcoming site for someone wanting to spend some alone time or personal time with a special companion. The simple fact that the building was meant to be a house means that the privacy is more than evident. The Manager and the stewards were friendly and accommodating, as I needed a silent working environment to work on my projects. They handled my request as quickly as necessary and left me alone when I was working. The music was also an addon. It was not the disturbing loud music that you get to hear in a lot of places.
I would love to highlight the music in this cafe. When I visited the cafe it was mostly occupied by couples(both young and old surely wanting to share a quiet time with each other). The music that was being played were songs of the old(both Hindi and English). They were love songs in the Soft Rock and Oldies genres which kept the mood going. As the crowd changed to a bit more of the business class - they changed the music to hits from after the Y2K - again both languages but still maintained a low profile rather than playing loud numbers.
I strongly recommend this cafe to anyone in Bangalore who would like to spend an evening over a Hot/Cold cup of coffe, a sandwich with your loved one. Visit the outlet and see for yourself.
