'Crook- Its good to be bad'-- I never had great expectations from this movie. I presumed that it would be just another offbeat movie from 'Vishesh Films' with some light moments, sensuous scenes, an offbeat storyline, decent music etc. I must say I was spot on. The film is about a tender love story-or rather two tender lover stories(both involving Emraan Hashmi)- with racism at its backdrop.
The movie, like all other movies, can be divided into two halves. A fast-paced 1st half which depicts Imraan fleeing to Australia, getting new friends there, his quest to get a PR, his falling for the lead actress(es) etc. The interval leaves the movie in a real interesting juncture. U start anticipating a lot and this is where the movie does not meet the audience's expectations. The 2nd half does not offer much and the dud climax does not help the cause either.(I could not understand the strange philosophy that Arjan Bajwa carries in this movie)
I read a few reviews from different Sites in which the critics have ripped apart the movie but I must add here that though it is not an outstanding movie, it is not unwatchable either and if you are an Emraan Hashmi Fan, you might enjoy the movie as well and not to forget the actresses. Neha Sharma looks good and her chemistry with Emraan is one of the high points of the movie.
I will go with a 2.5/5 rating for this movie- For Emraan, his chemistry with Neha Sharma and the decent music that the movie offers.
