Having tried various sites (ICQ, SMS.AC. etc)for sending sms's to people whom you wanna communicate with and not having an instrument other then the computer to deliver messages from,is frustrating to say the least.
But despair not SALVATION is at hand, no longer do you have to giveout 5 more cell numbers to be eligible to send a single message for free you don't even need a mobile phone, to use this site's services.
No more unending forms to fill in and no more feeling guilty of having comprimised a friends privacy by having their Cell Number up for grabs to any takers to market their products on.
At least for us who live in INDIA for the time being CRAZYALERT.com is a very useful site I found out about this site after having read Bhaskar's review on it and lo behold, this one IS a real neat site.
Basically it gets the message across in a Flash!!
Salient Features being:-
Free to register and send as many SMS messages you wanna in a day to your contacts and there is no charge to it.
I tried myself one message and in an Instant it was delivered, so at least it works from first hand knowledge.
I have also confirmed with friends and family and every single one of them has gone through.
There are some cool features too available to 2 once you register like, free Bill Payment Alerts, Appointments/ Birthday's & Anniversary Alerts, they even had some for VALENTINE's DAY...
You can store your contacts mobile numbers on the site in your personal address book.(or MY CRAZY)
They are in the process of developing an Inbox and Outbox soon as well as having other Alerts online soon, (They don't have one for cricket scores as yet)
Now the Flip side:
- Message lenght: Your messages are limited to 100 letters/characters. That means you basically clutter up a friends message box by sending small but repeated messages to their cute little mobiles (bad for boyfriends you have had a fight with their girlfriends and are trying to make up thru lovey dovey sms's, it'll only make the case much more complicated)LOL
The service only covers Cell Phone users in INDIA. They do plan to cover other countries too soon. so Spooks don't be expecting one from me!!
Other then that the site is easily navigable with very few screen transitions thus reducing the time you spend on the net (or a cyber cafe) and its pretty fast.
It is a throw back to the past glory days of https://unimobile.com (before they merged with Caltiger & Net2Phone and they could deliver a message anywhere in the world but it took upto 5 minutes here it's over and done with in a jiffy) of delivering your SMS to the right place in a blink of an eye.
At present if you don't have a mobile it'll be hard to receive a reponse but when their Inbox/Outbox services are activated that won't be an issue.
For People Who Are Apprehensive of giving out private information like Cell Numbers; e-mail's:
One does'nt compromise one's own privacy as it isn't necessary to give out your own number during registration
Otherwise there's always the phone and the speed dials numbers you have on them to urgently get your message across.
I hear an incoming message so that's about it....
