I have been with Country Delight for more than 6 months and following are my good and bad experiences. Hope this review helps.


Pros:


1. When you forgot to buy milk/ Sabji today and tomorrow you need it early. go for Country Delight.


2. Delivery will come on time and on rare occasion they might miss it, but overall delivery experience is fab.


3. Quality wise they were great earlier but now they are ok. 80% of time you will get good quality.


4. Buy things from them when we are close to end of the Month without VIP. I think they offer good deals down there.


5. If you find any product which is bad or not fresh and if you raise complaint via the app with screenshot, they will call you and gives you the assurance that this mistake will not happen again but there is no guarantee to it. They will give you the refund within 24 hours.


Cons:


1. Product wise the quality is ok but sometimes you have to yell at them to send fresh items and that's annoying after complaining more than 2 items.


2. Please remember to take screenshot before and after you checkout and keep an eye on wallet as well, very important.


3. They will not send you receipt on the email or phone because they want to play with your wallet, if their app makes a mistake.


4. They have total control over the wallet and if you don't pay attention, they will screw your wallet big time.


5. Taking VIP membership is as good as buying vegetables and milk from Sabji wala. Do more research on their VIP membership.


6. Support is very polite and no brain. They simply create a ticket and pass your issue to technical team. On call, they won't be able to take any action to resolve your issue.


So, here is my last experience where I am a regular customer at Country Delight, and they started selling pulses with common selling technique of a discounts where they were offering combo of Toor daal for 136rs - 900 gms which is a very good deal. I bought it couple of times and I was very happy about it and when I used to check out, I used to feel happy that I'm really getting a good deal here.


7th November, My VIP membership expired, and I got a notification to renew it. Now ignoring that notification, I started buying the same Toor daal but surprisingly I saw the same rate of 136.5. Now why would I buy that VIP membership again If I am getting a good deal here, right? So, I went ahead and reached to checkout where I saw I had very little money in my wallet. So, I made a recharge of 700 which is close to my cart total 136 5= 680 and checkout completed, and transaction went through fine.


Now after 2 days I went to Country Delight for more Toor daal and surprisingly rate went up and that's alright, it's understandable that promotions/ discounts are expired and then I noticed my balance is negative and I was like what the hell! I paid for everything how come my balance is negative? Country Delight will not allow me to go through the checkout process If I am below zero. So, let's investigate and then I looked at the order details. They not only double charged me for 7th November, but they also double charged me for 5th November as well!


Can you see the royal money stealing here? Do you see what just happened here? You will not just angry but super angry.


After that I had to call support thrice! I had to go through the stupid IVR and support is royal dumb but polite, they will listen to your frustration and may take your hits, but they don't care what just happened. They will not pass your concern or the kind of experience you have gone through or how this issue occurred for a customer in first place? They will just raise a ticket saying, "Concern team will reach out to you" and concern team do come back but here is the funny part. If you are busy and you don't pick up their call, they will simply close the ticket without customers approval. Are you seeing what's happening here?


Finally, the concern team called and explained your membership was expired that's why you got double charged then my question to them was "Why did your app let me through the checkout process with final checkout price 680/-? " I told them If the price was double why would anyone buy from you? I would rather go to local baniya and get the daal from him. He is selling for 190/- which you are now selling at 300/- They were simply unanswerable. Sadly, I did not take the screenshot while checking out because I trusted Country Delight blindly. They royally stole my money for 5th and 7th November orders.


After lot of yelling Country did refund some money but now there is no way I'm going back to those frauds unless I forgot to order sabji/ Milk today.


So, let me tell you what happened here. In reality my membership was expired. True and agree but the APP was showing 136 as a price. So, I am cheap little Indian and I decided to go ahead for checkout and prices were still 136 without VIP membership. I reached check out and I was short of money. So, I recharged for 700/- and I was able to go through the entire process. Now, after a day or two their audit team came in and looked at the purchase and they realized we have charged less to this customer not only for 7th but also for the 5th of November as well and these guys have royal access to wallet. So, they have royally gone ahead without any customer consent and stolen my money.


This is fraud and there should be a law to sue them up.


Now real issue here is the buggy APP. If app was in good state, then this would have never happened. So, now in circumstances like this Country Delight should fix the stupid app should not steal money from customer just because they have access to it.


Please read my Cons very carefully and do a little research on their VIP membership. You will find out more. Membership is just to fool you the non-mathematical mind.


I simply switched back to my Sabji Wala because he knows I want fresh items, and if something goes wrong, then he will manage it.


I just have to make call and that's it. That my friends I call it as service, and I am happy If he charges me 10/50 bucks more than Country Delight or any other online App but at least I have peace of mind and I'm not worried about any frauds.


Overall, my experience was painful as I needed peace of mind, and I don't wish to go back to my wallet and look at the wallet manipulation Country Delight has done.
