Corporate is based on the cola war that raged between two soft drink giants in the county around two years back. The plot revolves around the way in which both soft drink companies use NGOs, the media and politicians to their own advantage. There are many scenes which bear a striking resemblance to incidents that actually happened at that time.

Rajat plays Vinay Sehgal, managing director of Sehgal Group of Industries, who runs his business with a team of competent managers and executives. His competitor is Dharmesh Marwah (Raj Babbar), managing director of Marwah International Pvt. Ltd. He uses every tactic under the sun to beat Sehgal in the business battleground.

Bipasha Basu plays Nishigandha Dasgupta, an ambitious woman whose career grows in leaps and bounds thanks to her unflinching determination to succeed and right guidance from her mentor. But nothing prepares her for the shocking revelations she finds at the top.

As a director this is no doubt Madhurs best film to date. The screenplay is superbly written showing corporate world with emmaculate detail. No doubt Madhur Bhandarkar is a intelligent and methodical man who knows the art of filmmaking. He is quiet clear at the outset what kind of a film he wants to make and sticks closely to his vision. The amount of depth, realism and research that he has put into the film deserves a standing ovation. Above all-he doesn't bore the viewer despite the material, although the viewer must keep in mind that this is a serious and hard hitting fare. The climax of the movie is superb. A special note must be made to the subtle detail that he puts into his characters which elevate the film completely.

No doubt the performances in the film like this need to be topnotch and Corporate does not disappoint.

Bipasha delivers what is arguable the best performance of her entire career! She proves that she is a versatile actress and not justa glamour doll which is all the audience has seen her in. She gets right into the skin of her character and delivers a polished, nuanced and controlled performance which is bound to have the masses and critics situp and take notice of her. Hats off to Bips and heres hoping this is the first of many...

K.K yet again delivers a performance that is truly outstanding. In my opinion this is one of the most brilliant performances of 2006 so far and one that is hand downs worthy of an award. Pre-interval one feels that his role isn't as significant, but post interval he act slowly starts growing on the viewer and he explodes in that vital twist.

Minishaa doesn't have much of a role however she does impress in what litle scenes she has and looks gorgeous as always.Raj and Rajat are efficient as ever and plays their role with elegance. The smaller character actors too manage to leave their mark and play their parts naturally.

The dialogues in the film are natural although slightly heavy at times for the common man to decipher. That doesn't change the fact they are superbly written nevertheless

Technically the film is well shot and has a slick look and feel.Camerawork captures the ambience of corporate society as well as the mood of the film exceptionally well. Background score is terrific and elevates the movie in certain places.

All up CORPORATE is definetly a darkhorse of the year 2006.Go for it!
