This is the mutli cusine restaurant part of The Ocean Pearl hotel in heart of Mangalore city. It's a fine dining restaurant with good ambience, live music and good food presentation.
I went there two months back with my wife and father in law when he was in town.
We ordered manchow soup, chicken ghee roast, chicken pulimunchi, chilly chicken, neer dosa and fried rice. The soup was pleasent, warm and didn't feel like instant soup.
I intended chicken ghee roast as a starter, this dish was also good. It has good amount of ghee in it and had caramelized onion. There was 5-6 medium size pieces of chicken and quite meets the 250 price tag.
Then came neer dosa with pulimunchi. The pulimuchi was a bit heavy on our taste buds and we had the dosa mostly with the onion gravy from the ghee roast chicken. Pulimunchi is basically chicken in tamarind based gravy.
Then was fried rice and chilly chicken. There was not out of ordinary but still was good.
The total bill came to around 1500 for 3 which I would say is quite value for money for service that is provided
The food was good especially on quality and quantity wise. On taste side nothing much to boast about.
Overall a nice experience especially ambience and quality of service.
