DON’T CHOOSE COOKSCAPE / WALL2WALL FOR YOUR INTERIOR REQUIREMENTS. I HAD A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE.
1) Inordinate delay in completion: Their web site says ‘On-time delivery and zero delays’. It is a blatant lie. There is an inordinate delay right from the design stage to completion. In my case, it took 6 months from initially contacting them to completion. They said for ‘Capricost Finish’ timeline is 4 weeks for production and 2 weeks for erection. They took 12 weeks in my case to complete. And this is after a lot of follow-up and pressure from my side.
2) Payment terms: Initially they will give a differed schedule. But when the design process is completed, they will insist on 100% payment in advance.
3) Scant respect and ill-treatment to customers: Till you make the payments, they will pick the phone within a first few rings. Once you make the payment, they will avoid picking up your phone. Some will not pick up your calls at all. Some will say, ‘I am in a meeting. Shall call you later’. But they will not call back. You will have to make a few more attempts to connect to them. And some will send a message ‘Can’t talk. WhatsApp’. But if you send a WhatsApp message, it will never be responded. If you send e-mails, they will send a first reply ‘Shall contact other team members and get back to you’. After that, there will be no further reply. They will not commit anything in writing. They feel they are very clever in not committing.
4) You will not have access to the top brass: The top brass will remain incognito. You will be contacting only the lower level staff. They will never disclose who is the deciding authority and will not allow you to connect to them. He /she may be roaming about when you visit their office. But they will not identify themselves. The lower-level staff have been advised not to disclose the name or phone number of the higher-level staff and manage the situation by telling all sorts of lies. Whenever you ask as to what is the stage of your project, you will receive only vague replies. The lower-level staff have been assigned with handling different stages of the project and they are separate islands. Either they do not know or pretend not to know the position of your project, which has gone to the next stage and handled by another person.
5) I was harassed: After extending the deadline for completion several times, based on their promise, I fixed the date for house warming as 29th May. But they did not complete the work even on 28th. I had to cancel the function in the last minute and was embarrassed to inform the invitees. Then they promised to complete by 30th May and I fixed the date for house warming as 4th June. And they did not complete the work by then also. I asked them to stop the work for 3 days so that I can go ahead with the function. They refused to clear the debris for the function saying that they will clear it only after completion of the work. I had to employ a private agency for clearing the debris and cleaning the flat.
6) Examples of how they reply your queries:
Q: When will you complete my project?
A: As soon as the material reaches the site, the work will be completed.
Q: When will the material reach the site?
A: As soon as the processing is completed at the factory, it will be sent to the site.
Q: What is the position of the project at the factory?
A: I will contact the concerned position and let you know in two days.
After two days, you will have to make several attempts to contact that person. Then the reply will be ‘Production is going on!'
7) Amount due to me not refunded: Because of the inordinate delay in execution, I cancelled one work awarded to this company. I am after them for more than two months now. And still, they have not refunded the amount for the work not done by them.
What I have given is my personal experience. And that too after paying 100% amount in advance.
