Colors channel is a channel among the many few who got so famous in a less time. Its first show Balika Vadhu bought a revolution in daily soap formats and ideology. this highlighted the most seen but ignored topic of small girls getting married at the age when they are suppose to play but are bombarded with big responsibilities of handling the entire family and society on such small shoulders.
Its second serial Uttaran was too good and unlike the conventional saas-bahu daily soaps which lured people to watch this channel. My family also became a great fan of this channel and soon this channel came in top rankings with mega hit channels like sony, zee tv and star plus. Shows like bigg boss and jhalak dikhlaja which were first on sony and star plus respectively turned to colors. Colors was liked for its close to reality and serials with moral societal values.
But then it started showing more emotional, painful and exploitation stories like udaan and sasural simar ka which was still successful in dragging peoples attention but there is a limit and now its looking more of a mythological story and far from reality which has made people laugh on the channel managing crew and heads who select to feature such shows.
Still serials like Ashoka is worth the watch but other serials are being dragged and dragged and dragged without any story line and directed way away from its intent story. So I will say colors was colorful in the beginning but now its becoming a channel more of utter stupidity and baseless daily soaps.If colors would select serials with good stories and truly sensible stories instead of showing stories of never ending pain and villans performing black magic(shown in sasural simar ka) which is highly not recommended in todays life, it will gain its lost glory and respect. hoping such reviews would make the colors channel improve.
