Since I was a child I was fascinated by this cold drink, which was available at a price of four annas. The taste was strange and out of this world. Something, nothing else tasted. Then came our Great socialist George Fernandes and he ensured that this drink also disappear along with many other foreign commodities. Coke, as it came to be known later, made a comeback some fifteen years back only to recapture the space made vacant by its exit. There came many substitutes named .....Colas but nothing could really provide the taste the original cola gave us some forty years ago. I, for one, still remember that I had gulped a lot of this Coca Cola in UK in 1985, where I had gone on a government assignment.
It pains me to see this Drink stooping to absurd levels of advertisements to outsmart its principal rival, PEPSI. I believe, if these two company wasted less money on silly ads, they could make their products more competitive and that would be a welcome gesture to all the people who love either these two Colas or some similar cold drinks.
I personally love the original taste of Coca Cola and not the Diet Coke variation of the same. The strictly guarded formula is indeed a unique one and I believe, this drink will continue to retain its market share in the years to come.
Best of Luck to you all in the Coke industry!
