Mahindra Holidays and Resorts Cares
Mahindra Holidays and Resorts is working closely with MouthShut.com to enhance customer satisfaction.
Coorg resort of club Mahindra, biggest among Mahindra properties we have visited so far, 220 rooms amidst thick forest make a cool environment, you don’t need of any cooling device even in month of June. Resort was beautiful, rooms have good amenities like microwave, juicer, toaster etc. There are 3 restaurant, 2 swimming pools, 2 kids’ zone but still crowd beat all these spaces. Kids juggle for their chance to play especially in evening. But events they conduct in evening are interesting& crowd makes them lively.
First day on the way I visited Tibetan settlement at Bylkoppe, on that day they were celebrating Checham, a festival of Tibetans. Dance in very colorful costume made it a spectacular view. Golden temple here was grand architectural building. Flea market outside temple doesn’t offer much to shoppers. Then we stopped Nisargdama, a manmade island, offers feeling like roaming in Jungle.
Dinner at resort has umpteen varieties, though on first day it tastes good but it lost taste on third day due to monotony. Basically I love authentic local cuisine on street. In resort usually in order to get modernization they snatch taste from food. I felt they need more authentic chefs both from local & north India.
Access card for room gets spoiled easily even if it comes in contact with your mobile, camera etc so it needs special care otherwise you have to wait outside the room till someone brings to you new card.
In coorg there is not much to visit but whole area is lush green, coffee estates scattered everywhere.
Resort people also offer adventure trekking on payment, barring the Monsoon.
On second day we visited Talcavery, it is higher than marcara(another name of coorg), here the environment is misty making the whole experience surreal. According to the locals Sun shines here after January, till then it is magically misty .Here is a “Tal” which gives origin to cavery river which runs underground for 2-3 km then appears at Bamdegela a place of Sangam of three rivers.
At evening we visited Abhii fall at Marcara.A stunning beauty specially in monsoon.
On the 3rd day we went to Dubare elephant camp. Here we had opportunity to bathe wild elephants, feed them & ride on them. It is unique experience, don’t miss it. Then we covered Somarpat northest part of coorg, here Honnama kare, a large lake surrounded by scenic beauty made our day.
Overall coorg is not a very popular tourist place, but a beautiful, unexploited destination. Here you can get solitude & the blissful feeling of being one with nature
