As I was reading around here on Mouthshut, I stumbled on something that I think I’m going to really enjoy. (So what’s new, eh?)
I found this very interesting site called Classic Novels
The site was undergoing some renovation when I visited it for the first time, however, there was enough already in order for me to see this had the potential to be a super useful site for me.
What is it all about?
They have a list of novels that you choose from. You have the option to buy a novel straight out from the site or if you’d rather, you can subscribe to a novel and read it in your email for free. The only thing is they only send approximately enough pages for a five minute reading each day.
What are some of the titles they are offering?
Alice In Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
Beowulf by Anonymous
The Time Machine by H.G. Wells
A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett
The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton
The Art of War by Sun Tzu
Tartuffe by Moliere
The inferno by Dante Alighieri
The Arabian Nights by Sir Richard Burton
Celtic Fairy Tales Complied by Joseph Jacobs
Lady Chatterley’s Lover by D. H. Lawrence
Huckleberry Finn by Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain)
King Solomon’s Mines by H. Rider Haggard
Northanger Abby by Jane Austen
And for those that maybe can’t spare five minutes of time, they also offer the following :
The Fables by Aesop
Sonnets by Shakespeare
Classic Quotes
Overall
I fell in love with the site and subscribed to a few to try them out. Not only can you join in anytime, you can also read the archives to get what you may have missed.
I’m not sure how long each title remains active, and are very new to the site, but I am assuming that there will be more added.
So sit back, visit the site and enjoy your five minutes of reading.
