One of the most pathetic, absurd business development executives and moron agents. I wanted Health insurance for my parents and I took at the time and filled the form at policybazaar.com. I was then contacted by many agents. However, most of them said that due to various reasons and stringent health norms that they have, they can't approve for a patient's insurance if he/she has any prior medical conditions like Blood pressure or taking pre-cautionary medicines for various ailments. However, cigna ttk and their agents always kept calling. Since I was busy with my office works, I had given them my father's number to get all the necessary details and even directed my father to clarify well in advance. But this so called call centre/ sales agents always called my father, took basic details and then explained their policies. Stupid as it was, the agent said that there is no need of any declaration of previous declarations of health conditions and he hardly spoke about it and clearly avoided it. What's worse, he always avoided and duck those questions which we had in terms of their policy. So, now the stance was that my parent's can take the plan which was about Rs.12, 000 for 2 lakhs plan per year. Now starts the actual film and cheating customers. That agent(using a F word), kept calling and had the audacity to even ask me my credit card details and he would do it on my behalf since I was in office. I rejected him upfront, adding to his frustration. So eventually, I managed to duck him because I found it a little odd that the agent was so keen on us paying so immediately and going to an extent of asking the credit card details. He then calls up at 9 pm(because I told him that I reach home by that time), sends me a payment page link and guides me to pay the amount. Though after much discussions, and his fake assurances I agreed and made the payment. NOW THE TRUE COLOURS OF THE AGENT AND THE CIGNA TTK COMES OUT.
I get the payment confirmation, which is pretty normal. Then the agent says"sir, your policy is registered with us and it will be valid once we get your medical check up done from our doctors". I was shocked, but since I paid the money, I told them to send the doctor ASAP for the check up. The doctor never turns up. I call the all centre, had to explain my case once again, he said he is gonna send me a form which I should fist fill up before the doctor comes up for a visit. THIS WAS NEVER SAID! DO YOU KNOW WHY? Because, the form had various questions, which dis-qualify or rather makes us ineligible for the policy. The questions were like have you ever had bp, sugar, previous surgeries etc. Even a single YES to any makes us dis-qualified. The agent who sold us the policy, asked us to lie and fill it NO for every single question. My question to him was, why should I lie? ALSO, BECAUSE GOD FORBID IF WE GET HOSPITALIZED OR GET OPERATED FOR ANY REASON, THESE THINGS WOULD BE MENTIONED BY THE DOCTOR IN THE PATIENT HISTORY AND WE WOULD NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR A SINGLE RUPEE REIMBURSEMENT. AND IT WILL ONLY HELP IF YOU WERE IN AN ACCIDENT. So, only if you get hit by a car or a lorry, you would be covered by that policy.
I tried to get in touch with that SOB, who called me at 9 pm in the night from his personal number. HE NEVER TOOK THE CALL, BUT HIS FRIENDS. ALWAYS GOT TOLD THAT HE WAS IN A MEETING! YES YES HE BECAME A MINISTER I SUPPOSE. I had to then write to customer care email, threaten them, following up them for 3 weeks, only to get the payment after another 3 weeks.
I NOT ONLY APPEAL YOU ALL, BUT ALSO PLEASE DO NOT EVER EVER EVEN GO CLOSE TO SUCH FRAUDSTERS AND CHEATS.
PLEASE LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE.
