It's the most beautiful church of GOA . It's located about 10 miles from Panjim. The Church of St. Anne at Talaulim Ilhas, Goa is popularly known as Santana by the Goan people. This church is a magnificent structure.
In the main altar there is a statue of St Anne, mother of Mary. While the naves of European baroque churches usually have one entablature crowning a single order of pilasters, Saint Anne has two, made possible by dwarfing the proportions of the pilasters.
This pattern extends to the groin vault, which runs over the whole building’s interior and results in a uniquely Indian manipulation of baroque forms. The festivity of St Anne which falls on July 26 is celebrated throughout Goa, but more with aplomb in the tiny village of Talaulim where it is known as ‘Touceachem Fest’, Church got included on the World Monuments Watch in 2000.
