As far as I know, you have at least 14 Brands to choose from when you are looking to buy an AC for your home. Let me mention that I have not explored all of them. I have experienced the performance of Godrej, LG and Onida only. This is what I could put together - little details which might be of some help to you, at least to narrow down your options. Do explore the web-sites, they will give you the details and specifications which will make you aware of the features provided by a manufacturer. Make a research because you do not buy an AC everyday.
BLUESTAR -https://bluestarindia.com/ This a value-for-money brand. They have built reputation over time. 1.5 Ton Window AC starts from - 17,000
CARRIER -https://carrierindia.com Few dealers. Said to be cheaper in comparison. I have seen one running well for past 10 years. 1.5 Ton Window AC starts from - 16,000
DAIKIN -https://daikinindia.com/ Few dealers. Most Silent. Expensive.
GENERAL - This has been an expensive brand, 1.5 Ton AC could cost your more than 24,000 Rs.
GODREJ -https://godrej.com I am using it. Nice Product. Definitely have a low-running cost. Saves Power. Moderate Price. 1.5 Ton Window AC starts from - 14,000 (Digital Shoppy Price) ..
I just got this AC serviced after one year .. I noticed some foul smell in the room and when I investigated, it seemed to have come from AC Vent, I contacted the technician who have installed this AC for me, he gave me an appointment for the next day and told me that AC needs to be serviced at least once in a year. He serviced the AC thoroughly and that foul smell is now gone, all for a charge of 350/- Rupees. If you are in Hyderabad, you can contact him at ( Khan - 98486 50206).

MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC -This is one more not-so-widely-known brand. It is real expensive, I have seen only Split ACs from them so far.
ONIDA -https://onida.com Dealer Network Good. Claims to provide cooling at hottest of summers. Moderate Price. Its comparatively silent, definitely silent then Godrej, even in looks it scores high. Performance is really good. 1.5 Ton Window AC starts from - 14,800 (Big Bazaar Price)
