Do u want a color display?. Review on Choosing a Mobile Phone

I was waiting for color diplay phones to enter the market and when I got one I was amazed...It was so cool...But do I need one????i found this...

My first phone was a siemens C25... then came a siemens SL45 then came a Nokia 8310 then I went for a Nokia 3300... the first three were a dot matrix backlit enabled phone and the fourth one is a 64K color display phone...First let me tell u about the positives...I have used more than 5 color mobile phones and I had lotsa fun...Their games are so cool with color effects they give rich effect to the phones. The menus are not boring anymore with many themes we can have one to suit our feel and dress... Not to mention to see color pics and color wallpapers and sharing of pics... Capture pics and watch the preview on the display... Not to mention color browsing using WAP or GPRS...

I was so convinced to use one... But then came my horror.. My first color display phone was not 3300... I was using it now(not for its color display for its MP3)... I had a 6610... im a very casual mobile user and handles my mobile pretty well... But at times eventhou im careful I have the tendency to drop my mobile once or twice... Ive dropped all my previous dot matrix mobiles... in the case of C25 about 15 times even immersed the phone a couple of time in water(accidently thou) and in case of SL 45 abt 5 times and 8310 abt 6-7 times... When I dropped 6610 the phone switched off... I thought the battery was loose or somethin... But when I realised some liquid stuff on the display I realised the display is broken... I got it serviced for a whooping 5,000 INR... Then got a GD 68 voila when I dropped it even its case was broken with its display... my o my... then I realised why I shud use a mobile phone with a color display? afterall im gonna talk not gonna watch anythin... ah... without a camera its simply idiotic to use a color phone... then I was using the samsung v200 and it was quite useful(didnt dropped it thou')

What ive found?i wont suggest a color phone if u dont wanna buy a camera enabled phone... Simply coz it consumes more power(the standby and talktime are high in dot matrix display) its fragile display and its bulky size... one more important stuff is to always buy an external camera rather than a integrated one...all bluetooth enabled mobiles in the market have blueetooth enabled cams which can tranfer pics automatically to ur phone. external cameras have flash and it wont get scratched as some of the phones lenses are exposed and can get scratched when its in ur pocket... Im now using 8310 and when im on the move or when I know il be quite free I use my 3300... With expensive GPRS and many non-compatabilities India is not yet ready for a color display(my honest opinion) choose wisely and have a great time... may God bless u!!!!
