I visited chittorgarh palace during my visit to chittorgarh with my friends long back. It was an organised tour, we planned to go all the historical places of Rajasthan, chittorgarh palace is one of them.
It was winter of 2001 . we had a guide with us because as we heard the history about chittorgarh palce so we want to know the full history of fort. Probably it is one of the biggest forts of India.
Really we spent the whole day watching the fort. The guide elaborate the history about the palace, the place where the queens and other women did jauhar.
There was canons on the terrace of fort. The fort was ruled by allauddin khilji, rana udaisingh and baj bahadurpur shah, the most famous king was maharana pratap of rajput clan.
The fort was looted and conquered by Akbar, all the women of fort did jauhar for saving their honor . it is a fort with amazing history. In my opinion the people who are interested in history and historical places then chittorgarh fort is a must go place for you avoid to go in summer season because the weather of Rajasthan is too hot in summer
