Razzle Dazzle. Review on Chicago Movie

A movie that stole the Oscars. And rightly so, for it deserved all the applause it got, and more.

Set in the twenties, the movie tells the story of Roxie(Renee Zellweger)who wants all the glitz and limelight that Chicago has to offer,and Velma ( Zeta Jones)who already has all that. Roxie murders Fred, who had promised her the stardom, then seduced her, and then dumped her! and when she is imprisoned, she meets Velma, who is also serving for murdering her partner- dancer sister and husband. Queen Latifah plays the matron, and Billy Flynn (Richard gere) the lawyer who has taken it on his shoulders to get roxie out, and he's known to have never lost a case.

while in the jail, Roxie tastes the glamor, and when she is acquitted, realises she is back to being a nobody. And thats when Velma persuades her to join her for a double act, and thats when both touch the sky.

Dances are amazing, music great. Catherine Zeta Jones is extremely graceful and enchanting. Rene is simply beautiful. Richard gere surprises all with his tap dance, though he looks dreadfully old. however, the movie sweeps you off your feet and you cant help but become a part of Chicago. Amazing choreography, great sets and splendid costumes; and all enhanced by an extremely talented star cast. Catherine and Renee stole the show with their dances, and so did Queen Latifah. John C Reilly amuses and enthralls. Rob Marshall (director) has outdone himself!

A great movie, definitely worth a watch.
