I am writing this review after the news has arrived that GM is going to discontinue this car. I bought Optra Magnum D 2.0 TCDI on 31st Dec 2011. Pros Value for Money, (if you ignore the resale value, which I think is not at all good compared to Maruti or Hyundai or Honda).
You touch 2000 rpm and you can experience the power of turbo charger Feels confidence even at high speeds touching 150+ It has excellent stability and control. And road presence. Lots of rear room and if you happen to use driver then you can get all the luxury feel.
Good fit and finish with all leather interiors, although it lacks high end gadgets like Hyundai Verna and other cars. Hey but who wants Gadgets, I wanted power so no comparison. Good Mileage I clocked 13 kmpl, in city traffic, considering the fact that its high end, 2.0 ltr diesel engine, it was good.
Cons Some issues with dealer(workshop) post sales Expensive parts, and I had to get repainted because of minor bruises and it cost me 10k Not good resale velue, per GM deciding to discountinue such a wonderful car.
14-Feb-2016: After 4yrs and 2 months, I got Engine belt replaced, and refilled A/c Gas. It cost me 32.5 k. But the beast is still rolling.
26-Jan-2018: Still going on the best is roaring still.
