I would like to narrate my harrowing experience while travelling in this Cab. Yesterday I booked one of their Taxis for coming from Siri Fort Auditorium to my residence at Indirapuram, Ghaziabad at 9 p.m.The taxi reported at normal time, but from the very beginning of our journey in that cab no DL1RY0040, the driver Yashpal Saini was very reluctant to switch on the AC as he told that it has developed a technical snag all of a sudden because of which the compressor is not getting on.
When we approached the Ring Road, there was a severe traffic jam and the driving skills of the driver were simply exposed in these trying conditions. At this point of time I insisted him to take the DND bridge as it can reduce the distance to my destination drastically but the driver wanted to take Nizammuddin bridge route apparently because the car was running out of fuel and he desperately wanted to refuel the car in some of his known CNG filling station on that way.
At my continuous insistence, the driver most reluctantly took the DND flyway, somehow we crossed it and barely after it passed Rajanigandha Chowk in Noida, the car completely ran out of fuel and it came to a grinding halt. Fortunately there was a petrol pump on the other side of the road and the driver assured me that the car has a petrol back up and it will reach my destination very soon. Unfortunately the car did not have the minimum CNG to go barely 200 m to the petrol pump and the driver had to take petrol in a bottle from the petrol pump. But probably the worst was yet to come. The tall claims by the company of all the cars having petrol back up were exposed severely as the car could not be started after lot of attempts. Utterly frustrated at this horrible service, we decided to unboard the cab, board a cycle rickshaw to Sector 12, 22 Chowki and ultimately managed to get an Auto Rickshaw to reach Indirapuram at 10-30 p.m.
This experience was indeed a nightmare for me as I was actually compelled to take the cab for the first time yesterday because of unavailability of Delhi Cab which I take very frequently because of their excellent services. Is this lackluster attitude from Chansons due to the fact that they are one of the very few Radio Taxi operators who have permits to operate in Ghaziabad region and they are simply enjoying the monopoly? Also I have gone thru their website which claims that their drivers are specially trained for tough road conditions and all their cars have petrol back up, but my first journey went on to prove that these are all marketing gimmicks.
I would therefore request all the readers of this article to think twice before taking this suicidal decision to take Chansons Radio Cab!
