We planned a trip to Goa, traveling Gokarna, Murudeshwar and finally to Goa and back to Hyd. A group of 5 suffering badly all through our trip due to the bad maintenance of the cars acquired by Myles.
Date: 3rd Nov 2016. We initially booked Toyota Etios and collected it a 2PM from ISB, Gachibowli. Initially, while the car delivery, we had been informed that the car was just done with servicing and we were the first person to take it for a long drive. Apparently, it turned out that the car didn't start and found that there is a problem with the battery. We called up to the office and the servicing team came at 7.30PM claiming they were just 5mins away from our place. He then came and used a jumper to kick-start our battery and the car turned on. He left, and when we started the car and drove just about 100mtrs and realized that the brakes were not applying rightly. We went to the office located at Hi-tech city and replaced the car with Honda Amaze. This car turned out to be a nightmare too.
Now, let me list down the problems we faced during our 3-day trip:
Started the journey and drove for about 200 km and realized that there was some disturbing sound coming from the front pair of tires. Firstly, it was just coming when the car was moving, later, when brakes were applied the sound was coming even louder. We called up the customer care and were informed that either the brake pads must have gone or there is a problem with the axle. We accepted the fact and asked for a resolution. Here happens the funnier part! The customer care rep. says that he would be sending a towing vehicle from Hyderabad so that he could take the vehicle back. Well, that sounded fair, but the next question was what about us? He sweetly answered saying, Sir, we could send you an emergency car which you can use for 50kms free of cost and for further traveling please contact the driver or the agent for the fare charges. If it was Zoom car, in this case, it would have surely made us wait but would have given us another car. Hearing this from Myles representative was terrible! This all happened at 1AM and we had to wait on roads till 3AM hoping for a better resolution from them.
With such a beautiful reply from the rep, we decided to leave to Hubli and fix it ourselves by visiting Honda showroom. We then contacted the hi-tech city office manager to inform him that we would bear the expenses and requested for a reimbursement for which he argued saying that the brake pads were new and were replaced a couple of months ago! The Honda showroom representative then checked it online and found no record of new brake pads being replaced. The manager then agreed and said they put non-genuine parts for the cars! This was a shocker for us. Adding to the brake pads, the another problem that came to light was the back left tire which was wobbling all through the journey till Hubli. This we didn't realize till we came across a man who helped us know the situation. This was replaced with the spare tire in the showroom itself.
Date: 6th Nov 2016. Return to Hyd from Goa. While traveling back to Hyd, we just crossed a small city called Yellapur and then realized there was something wrong with the car again! And yes, this time we saw that the tire was punctured. Well, that could happen due to various reasons and Myles doesn't hold responsibility for that. The real picture started, when, we thought we would replace the tire and place the wobbling tire and go back to Yellapur and fix the puncture. The next twist comes here, we found that the jack which was placed in the car was jammed, no spanner in place and no other equipment which could help us in replacing a tire. Just try to understand our situation at this point of time. It was a dense ghat area where there was the least accessibility for our car to get fixed.
This way of irresponsibility towards the customers clearly shows the kind of quality Myles is providing to its customers. This clear shows there are here to make money over and not concerned about people lives. Our trip with Myles was deadly and pathetic. We had put our lives at risk throughout.
