Last year we purchased Carrier Estrella 1.0 ton AC. Though we heard lot about Carrier, but the experience is just the opposite. It has worst after sales support I have ever seen. Looks like company is not bothered about the service, as it is selling only by its previous image.
Initially, there used to be some burning smell whenver the AC is switched ON. On calling he customer support, the Engineer said that its a common problem with this product and he just washed the AC thoroughly(similar to what they do for service).
Carrier gives 1 year warranty on AC and 5 year warranty on Compressor. after 13 months of purchase, the Refrigrant Gas was leaked from the compressor and company had simply refused to consider as this is not in warranty now. As per company rules, if we get this gas filled from some other vendor, we will loose the warranty on Compressor as well. so istead of getting the gas filled in Rs 2000/- we end up spending Rs 3500/-. My 10 year old Samsung and National are running much better than Carrier and has better cooling effects.
