I had purchased Carrier Clesta R series aircon 1.5 Ton in the Year 2003. This was when the the rotory compressor was recently introduced.
This aircon has been very sparingly used but has devloped problem every year. Just after one year the gas had leaked just after servicing and recharge + repair was not under warranty. Next year the IC circut burnt. Last year the cooling was low and recharged. This year again cooling was low and I was told the compressor is drawing very heavy current and needs replacement. The warrranty for compressor is only 5 years. The service techician advised these particular aircon has been troublesome.
To put end to misery I sold this unit and bought Samsung Aircon. I have a Samsung aircon Aircon in another room and Voltas which are 4 years and 9 years old resp.
Recently my friend also shared the same opinion.I wish to highlight to prospective buyers that Carrier is not only expensive but poor in quality and will not recomend you this Maker.
