Don't believe the paid reviews and select Care Insurance. You must read this review before buying Care Health Insurance.
I personally think that they changed their name from Religare to Care to cover the bad reputation. Never ever fall for the sweet words they say when they call for sales. They are all fake and they don't honour your claim. First of all, we pay our hard earn money and, take insurances to make our life safe and hustle free. Instead, you are making the process complicated and time-consuming for us, which is highly unacceptable.
I will explain my experience below, its bit lengthy but do read it and don't get cheated, as it's your hard earn money. You may also contact me on 8330850085, if you want more details.
Myself Jithin, I have an active Care Heath Insurance which is expiring on May 2022.
I recently applied for a mediclaim for my wife when she got admitted in one of Care's network hospital (applied for both cashless and reimbursement), and both got rejected saying "admission not justified".
You need to know the history of the claim to understand it better. My wife is working from home and on Wednesday evening (09-02-2022), she developed a severe stomach pain along with diarrhoea, headache and nausea. We thought it shall be alright by next day. But the next day, pain kept on increasing and then she took half day leave on thursday (10-02-2022) as the pain was unbearable.
Immediately we consulted a doctor in our locality, and she diagnosed the condition as Gastroenteritis and prescribed some medicines and antibiotics. She also suggested if the pain is not getting better by the next day then you should go and get admitted.
My wife had the medication and we did not see any improvement. Then based on the advise received from the first doctor, we went to a multi-speciality hospital in Thiruvalla, called Thiruvalla Medical Mission (TMM) on 12th Feb for a second opinion, and consulted a senior doctor there. He did a detailed checkup and said to get admitted immediately as she was dehydrated. But we said we are not ready to get admitted as we have a 4-year-old child, whom we did not want to left at home a get admitted to the hospital.
So we came to another Multi-speciality hospital named Pushpagiri for a third opinion. Please note, we have not gone directly to emergency, we could have done that. But our intention was not to get admitted, but to get medicines and go back to our child. But here again, the doctor strongly advised to get admitted. And then we decided to get admitted.
As per my understanding of Care insurance's terms and conditions, me or any insured person can get admitted in In-Patient care if it is "Medically Necessary".
Now, being a common man, if three qualified doctors suggest to get admitted as she was extremely dehydrated, then I should do accordingly, right?....for a layman it is "medically necessary". We shall not be in a position to contact the insurance panel doctor before making those decisions. And by doing this these panel doctors are claiming that, all three doctors suggested hospitalisation are not competent, which is unacceptable.
I strongly feel that this decision is not justifiable.
We were not on vacation in the hospital. No one wants to spend time in the hospital. It was done as per the instruction from qualified physicians.
So if they can't take this as genuine and if they can't honour this small claim of 11k, when my cover is for 5lakhs, then do you think they will honour your claims.
So beware.
