I have been using this product since 1 year and I would definitely recommend Canon digi cam antime.
- First of all, the picture quality is above other competetors in the market today in this segment. I have personally compared the pctures taken on Sony cybershot series, Nikon etc and I found Canon is the best. Even my friend who has Nikon, finds this one sharp & clear.
2, Other Features: There are additional feture that are lacking in other brands - like Auto rotate. Ease of use is the best. Timer setting is completely customizable and convenient.
Manual mode is quite sophisticated and allows one to experiment with exposure, aperture setting etc.
Video quality is quite nice.
Macro mode: One can take very close shots with macro mode.
For starters, auto mode gives best pictures any time. One point to note is: First focus on the object by pressing the shoot button half the way. Release it after focussing. Again shoot with full press. This results is clarity of the picture to a great extent. If you shoot directly without focussing, the picture may not be very clear/sharp.
Optical viewfinder: A handy feature, especially when you are running out of battery.
Various shoot modes to choose from.
Facility to use add on lenses.
Cons:
The speed of shooting continuously with flash on: This one I found a little slower. It takes time to take the second picture when flash is on. May be a powerful battery would help.
Taking indoor pictures: The flash is good enough for a normal indoor shot. However, I wish it is more powerful. Anyhow, Canon provides facility to add external flash.
