We recently decided to buy another printer, and after much searching and price comparisons, we bought the Canon Bubble Jet I 350 Printer, at £59.99GBP from Comet. The printer itself uses both black/white and colour ink, which, I think, is ideal for what we want to print. The printing we do includes letters, spreadsheets and photos.

It measures approximately 15? wide, 7.5? high, and 6? deep. These measurements are without the paper trays being extended. The paper in feed tray extends up about 7? and the paper out tray extends about 7.5? at its full extent, but you can have only half of this tray out if there is not a lot of room.

The Canon Bubble Jet I 350 Printer is made of sturdy plastic in a 2-tone colour of off-white on the main body and silver grey at the ends. One of the reasons we liked this particular printer is that it has separate ink tanks for black and coloured inks.

These ink tanks, I find, are very easy to install, and de-install. When we first got the Canon Bubble Jet I 350 Printer and unwrapped all the packaging we noticed how light it is to carry to where we were going to have it in respect of the proximity to our PC.

The connection to our PC was by a USB cable, which I feel is better than using conventional printer cables/connections. Once this was done, we found that installing the Canon Bubble Jet I 350 Printer was very easy indeed. The reason for this is that it came with its own set-up software and user?s guide in the form of a CD.

We found to set up the Canon Bubble Jet I 350 Printer was very easy indeed. We put the CD into the CD-ROM drive on the computer and just followed the on-screen instructions. Once the installation was completed, we restarted the computer and carried out our work and play as normal. The Quick Start Guide manual that comes with this printer is simple to understand, as the terms used are in plain layman?s English, and has many easy to follow diagrams.

Loading the paper is, again, a very simple procedure in my opinion. All we did was to place up to 100 sheets of A4 white paper against the right-hand guide that is on the top of the printer towards the back. We found there are no levers to release, as may happen with some other printers. To make sure the paper is set in the correct position, we moved the left-hand guide inwards a bit to hold the paper in place.

One good feature we like about the Canon Bubble Jet I 350 Printer is that it has a paper rest at the paper input area and a tray for when the printed documents come out at the front, bottom of the printer. The on/off button is very easily accessible on top of the printer, so you do not have to go fiddling about trying to switch it on and off.

This, in my mind, is an extremely useful feature of the Canon Bubble Jet I 350 Printer. It can be annoying if you don?t have a lot of room for your printer and then you have to be a contortionist just to switch it on and off. Print quality, we find, is very good indeed. We have printed many documents, from Excel spreadsheets to job application letters and CV?s.

The colour aspect of the printing is also very good in my mind. One other great feature is that the ink cartridges seem to last a very long time, even though we do a lot of both colour and black/white printing. I think the speed of printing black and white documents is excellent, as the number can run at up about 15 copies per minute, depending on the amount of writing on the document.

When printing documents that are coloured then the printing does slow down, but not significantly. The technical features of the Canon Bubble Jet I 350 Printer include: Compatible for Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows Me USB, Macintosh OS8.6-9.x, and Macintosh OS X. To use the printer for Easy-PhotoPrint then Internet Explorer 4.0 or later must be installed.

For Windows XP and Windows 2000 the available hard-disk space should be 50MB For Windows Me and Windows 98 the space should be 15MB For Mac OS 8.6-9.x the space should be 30MB For Mac OS X version 10.2.1 or later the space should be 100MB Some additional system requirements are ( as per the instructions): Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later.

Pentium 75 MHz equivalent or higher 2x or higher CD-ROM drive. I can certainly recommend this printer for anyone wishing to buy, who has got limited space for one.
