The first visit to Candies left me mesmerized. Such a humongous place in Mumbai was hard to fathom. My friends who live and breath Bandra suggested I should have the Salad. I immediately bought the coupon and went to the salad bar, the cost during 'those' times was just 60 or 80 , one of those ! Just love the salads especially the cheese and macaroni one, so so sinful ! Its just irresistible.
Coming to food (9/10), salads are the best bet. That's what I always order. They are just too awesome! Other than that give Chicken Lasagne, Spinach and Mushroom Cannelloni and Chicken Stroganoff a try. If you have a sweet tooth must haves are New York & Blueberry Cheesecakes, Red Velvet Cupcake, Chocolate Biscuit and Chocolate Lava. Heaven! The Chocolate Lava is 'mmmmmmmm.....'
The chicken tikka roti is another all time favorite! The Bombay blue and pink lemonade still remains a favorite. More about the drinks are mentioned below. The biryani is really good too!
I recently went back to this place on a Sunday! The service is still poor! It bugged me big time , had to wait at the servers several times before they could take my order. It took me 45 minutes to wade through other customers and clearly tell the sever my order. To top it all there was a private birthday party with only two servers on the floor! God, I was annoyed and wanted to pull my hair out!! My sunday was ruined.
The Crispy Chicken burger was ok. I called for a chicken lasagne, it was awful ! The Chicken tikka roti was undoubtedly the best again !
I love the concept of self service, but with such pandemonium who would want to waste their effort and time to just place the order and ruin their entire day. It is like a fish market, where all the customers just want to trample over you!!
Ambiance-wise (9/10), this cafe is one of the coziest I've been to. Housed in one of the bungalows in a by-lane of Pali Hill, its exactly where you least expect it to be. Lush green plants welcome you into the cafe. And once you are inside, nothing can take your eyes off the display counter.
The ambiance is just awesome. Next time I'll pack some food from home and just go enjoy the ambiance. Never visiting this place in the near future and even if I do , Will never go to place the order ever again.
They are vigorously expanding floors over floors but what about the service??
The whole 'candies' experience has definitely deteriorated over the years. It was one of my favorite joints, but now I don't even want to enter this place.
Service (3/10) is not the best you'll find. Arrogant is how I'd describe the servers. They take eons to take your order and hand you back your change as if its their tip that they are returning.
I'm only giving it 3 stars, because the taste of food has remained consistent over the years and I fell in love with Candies, the first time I went there. But with the annoying service and high headed servers , it doesn't even deserve 1 star.
What do you like or dislike about this restaurant?
The super-duper ambiance and the music played grips one to comfort and lets one relax. The seating arrangements are also very much comfortable and one can enjoy sitting in the a/c level at the ground floor, or one can prefer the 1st or 2nd level.
What was the food like?
As mentioned earlier, the food and the ambiance was the best part of this place. The food was expensive but worth for what it was priced. I haven't had such delicious dishes anywhere. Especially the salad is worth noticing and a must try for people who drop in here.
For drinks you cannot miss the- Lemongrass Cooler and Pink Lemonade. Both are my favorites. (but they do seem to run out of their lemon decoction very soon, so make sure u go there early)

As said the flavor was awesome, variety of stuffs available and each worth trying. The atomosphere was very nice and attractive and mesmerizing. The appeal that this restaurant is the main reason to have club members associated with it.
Comment on the ambiance, music, staff appeal and speed of service.
The ambiance is the best and the music also played are always on hot trends. The problem comes to the speed of service and one would surely starve to death if the person is alone, if people go in groups then wait time doesn't matter a much as time passes clicking pics and having fun and discovering the entire section.
Are reservations necessary?
Reservations are necessary only for couples as couple seats are very less so couples can face problem of waiting, and can ruin their date. Big groups normally find place to hang out as the place is very spacious for large group size.
If reservations aren't accepted, how long a wait can one expect?
One can expect anywhere in between 30-50 mins wait, and this problem arises due to lack of service and delivery of order after the order being placed.
Seating place: The seating place is a bit of a problem especially on weekends as this place gets damn crowded and one can find groups occupying majority of space.
Cost is a bit high: The cost is a bit high, but its totally worth for all the dishes.
From bandra station one has to take a rick and can reach here, and the surrounding areas are very nice and worth spending time, and one can reach this place via train by getting down bandra(Western railway).
This place can be tried out by anyone and everyone, right from kids upto teenagers upto adults and as well as senior citizens.
Final verdict: Just go for it, few have been addicted rest don't seem food lovers :P
A must visit place, with pleasant atmosphere and to top it all good taste, just the service needs improvement.
