I am using wimax for past 6 months.The plan I use is 750 rs which is suppose to give me 512kbps unlimited. But I am happy to say that I get sharp 1mbps speed.I an very happy with this product.The money I have to pay is 905 with tax included.
Now lets come to problems faced by bsnl wimax.
1) It covers only small part of town.That is provides very little coverage.
2) The the minimum strength of the wimax signal to get maximum speed is 75% .
3) There are connection issues sometimes it takes forever to connect.
4) wimax outdoor modem is big and bad to look at.
5) There is no wifi support so you will need a wifi router if to connect to wifi capable devices.
6) bsnl service is not the best in town.
The 1 mbps speed I recieve is mostly due to the minimum channel is of 1 mbps and I get around 90% signal strength as my wimax modem and tower are in line of sight.Besides that If the users of wimax in my channel increase the speed will decrease.
Well guys all these problems doesn't matter as I get 1 mbps unlimited internet and have to say there is no speed drop unless there is a tower complaint. I suggest you to try and check for the strength of wimax signal before buying one.If you are lucky enough you will get this speed as well.
