For years we have been taken for a ride by the usual cellular service providers..increase in rates..pay a certain amount to get your incoming free which basically makes up for the incoming charges.Airtel is a real bombshell to maintain..my father has bills mounting to about 5000 to 6000 a month with that connection. their rates are just too high and even the messaging is expensive.1.50rs per message.
i have been a subscriber to spice telecom in karnataka for the past year till I changed to bsnl (excel) prepaid card.spice telecom would just rip me off with their rates.3rs outgoing and incoming rates.50p messaging to spice networks, 1rs messaging to other networks.plus they would deduct 3rs everyday and rs 150 would be deducted after recharging your balance as service charges. out of a 500rs recharge I would have a balance of rs 350 usage but with the deduction of rs 3 every day the amount of currency you get to use is about 150rs.which would get over within one and a half weeks.plus there was no roaming and no extra services.
bsnl excel card has been a real boon.its really nice to use even though it will take sometime for their network to settle down.but the messaging is free ,incoming is free and outgoing is 2rs a minute..almost like my own normal telephone.ive practically stopped using my landlines now..the charges are affordable, plus you get extra services, and roaming which includes coverage on the national highways and on trains too.i think its brilliant.so far there has been a huge demand for the cellone or excel connection.so much demand that there are a shortages of sim cards.
the main thing is that my currency lasts for a long time is been a month now since ive recharged my account and I love it.id say that the other cellular service providers are in for some stiff competition.cant help it if something better comes out.
