BSNL is one of the oldest service provider of the Internet services. Although I am happy with the speed and connectivity of the BSNL Broadband I literally hate its customer service.
I will narrate what exactly happened to out BSNL broadband connection just 4 days ago. Till that day the services were working quiet fine although there were little lag in the speed. What exactly happened was that the connectivity was intermittent. That means suddenly the Internet Light on the router would go off and then it would come back after few seconds. We have a Dlink DSL-2730U WIRELESS N 150 ADSL2+ 4-PORT ROUTER which was just installed around 6 months back and hence I was so sure that the issue was not with the router but with the service provider itself.
The very next thing that I did was that I called the Customer care Number 1503 from the BSNL landline. I got soon connected to a Lady who sounded very dull and at the first moment it felt as if she was in no mood to help me that day.
I explained her the issue very clearly . I also told her that I have already tried some of the troubleshooting steps like: rebooting the router, unplugging all the cables and then connect them back, check for the adsl cable whether it was properly plugged in to the router or not. But that was all in vain as that Lady told me to perform those same checks once again. By the time the router light was on again I was already on call with her for more than 10 minutes. After that when I told that the Internet light was still going off at some intervals she insisted me to perform a hard reset on the router. I did as directed and it took another 6 minutes for the router to be back on.
I was very frustrated more as I can clearly hear that she was also speaking with some one else next to her and that too some family talks. Now when the hard reset was done the Internet light was completely off. Now she told me that she will help me to set the IP and the DNS server manually.
She told me to go to the Network and connectivity page and then check for the connection status. I told that the connectivity. Now she told that she will help me with the numbers for the IP address and hence she needs some time to find the details and hence she insisted to put the call on hold. But that lady was so eager to join the other conversation that she did not hit the CALL HOLD Button, I was clearly hearing all their talks about Family outings, salary and also marriage.
I was very upset and I was just trying to bring her back on the call but she was so busy she was unable to hear my shouts. After a long 6 minutes gap she took the receiver and straight away I told her that she had made me to wait for such a long time and I was heating all their talks. She got offended and straight away she started giving me the numbers and asked me literally in one Line "Is Internet working now, SIR!". She sounded very rude and then she told that she will take a complaint as it was a technical issue and also stated that the issue will be fixed within 24 hours. She gave me a complaint number that all.
Trust me this 30-40 minutes of the call duration has irritated me a lot. My opinion how come someone hire these kind of so called professionals whose job is to help us?

I will urge BSNL to hire some more effective Advisors who will atleast do what their JOB ask them to do.
