IIT'S are the colleges every serious engineering aspirant should look upto. There are a number of Tutorials for IIT-JEE.I will be trying to give you a clear picture on what one of the tutorials has in offer for you. This is by no means a comparison with other courses conducted by other tutorials. I am a student of Brilliant Tutorials Elite Correspondance Course for IIT-JEE.I have found the course to be well structured. But theory explanation is not sufficient.
Merits
It covers all topics in the syllabus for IIT-JEE.
The course material includes several (quite a number) worked examples.
Inumerable number of additional problems from previous JEE papers and other entrance tests are also included.
Worked examples for the additional problems too are given in the consequent sets.
Past 4 years JEE question papers are also given.
Sealed solutions for the JEE question papers are also given.
Doubts can be cleared through Doubt letter scheme.
Several sit down tests are conducted. National ranking is assigned after evaluation.
Contact Programmes with the faculty is periodically arranged.
2 Years Y.G.File (Young Genius File) a collection of 1500 tough problems to tackle in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Two parts Y.G.File - Screening and Y.G.File - Main.
Demerits
Theoretical explanation tends to be insufficient.(Because the course has most probably been structured taking into account the CBSE syllabus)
Question Papers of National Sit Down Tests will not be sent to a student if he is absent for it.
National Sit down tests conducted in 35-40 centresonly.
Still lesser centers for Contact Programmes.
Overall it is a well structured yet concise course. But as with every course it has its own shortcomings. For a student from a state board the initial hurdles are
quite a problem. If the person is not either a genius or a determined person he will not be able to study the course material until the latter half of his XI classes.
Hope You benefit from it.
