Website? More like a Crapsite. Review on Bollygrounds

When I took a monthly account on Bollygrounds.com, I thought that I would be able to watch a Hindi movie anytime, and peacefully at that. No driving 5 miles to the desi store to rent a video, an returning home empty handed because the video's been rented by someone else.

Something about Bollygrounds and the services they provide:- Bollygrounds is an online repository of Indian movies and other entertainment stuff. This website started off as a free service, and have started charging people off-late. I got a monthly account for $19.99 as soon as I heard of the site.

I was all excited and waited for 1 day for my username and password to come through. And then some more time for my account to be activated. And then I finally got all the formalities completed and was ready to watch my first movie.

I remember I tried watching my first movie on a Friday evening. A day when everyone would like to watch a movie after 5 days in office. I clicked on the movie name and waited for a couple of minutes after a new window opened for the movie to start. I had already microwaved 2 packs of my favorite popcorn. And soon the movie started. And then it stopped. And started again. And stopped again. I restarted my computer and tried again. The same problem. Then I realized that the problem was with the website. Apparently, too many users had logged into the website at the same time. But, all valid users who had paid to watch movies. All users like me who were disappointed.

I have had an account with them for almost a month now, but I still haven't been able to complete watching a single movie. I have tried a few other websites that provide the same services at half the cost, which were much better. https://desimedia.net is one of the good ones. But a review on that later. The worst thing about Bollygrounds.com is that you cannot start a movie in between. You have to watch 30 minutes of a part that you already have seen. Where is all the technology? Where are they hosting their servers? Some remote location in Africa? Why have they allowed so many users to register, when their servers cannot support these many? And I tried getting in touch with their customer support. I have emailed them every single day for almost the past month, but haven't got any response from them. There is no number listed on the site for customer support.

DO NOT TRY TAKING AN ACCOUNT ON https://BOLLYGROUNDS.COM, NO MATTER HOW TEMPTED YOU WOULD BE. PATHETIC SITE, WITH NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. GROSSLY OVERPRICED. AGE-OLD TECHNOLOGY.
