Due to some illusion created in the media about the superfast parcel delivery I was fooled into trusting their service. And they delivered my parcel 4 days later. Yes after paying Rs280/- they take 4 days. They claim to utilized Air rail, ship elepahnat back horseback or what ever it takes to deliver. Nothing could be further from the truth.
First of all they sort the letters on the basis of PINCODEs. Theie own clerk has admitted that 50% letters that have piled up in front of him have come there from another place where the Pincode is just slightly different from his area's Pincode. That is to suggest that if the entire address is correct but if the Pincode is wrong or interpreted to be something else your letter will first go to the wrong address. Once there they shall resend it to the correct address.
Basically your letter is going around the country to a place with a similar pincode!
I suggested that they sort the letters according to pincode and city of receiver BOTH. That would save time in redirecting mail to the appropriate destination. THe staff says that Blue Dart has nosuch facility in it's system. So first the letters of one corner of the state will wrongly go to the wrong corners of the state and then be redirected to the correct destination!
That is to say that only after reaching the destination will the address be read! Isn't that pathetic? For a country like India where people cannot spell "India" properly Blue Dart is busy redirecting letters!
Thirdly they make no use of either the senders or receivers telephone numbers to confirm the location. A letter sent from New Delhi on tthe 16th reached Mumbai on 26th! The address was confirmed on the 22nd. Obviously because the pompous fart's egos would have been hurt if they called earlier.
Lastly any other company and you would have customer service people calling you up to apologize. Nothing like that here. There isn't even a lame excuse here in the name of customer service. Just nothing.
By and large it's a courier company of guys withinflated egos for customers who have inflated egos. It's a scam in the name of courier. You would get better service with the tradional "angadiya" services and small time operators.
Avoid if you can. And pray if you have to. Writing the correct address doesn't necessarily give you any tactical advantage!
