We recently plan to change our company domain at the same time we decided to change the billing system from WHMCS to Blesta for a lifetime license instead of a subscription. Though we know WHMCS is the best billing software even though we decided to move over Blesta because of the lifetime license which WHMCS does not offer.
However, we are familiar with WHMCS but not with Blesta but upon the check, Blesta review found its 2nd top billing software after WHMCS and surprised with pricing difference.
I was browsing through their website and found 30% off for switching from another billing software to Blesta. The biggest mistake I did here is become greedy for 30% off and bought it instead of using the trial version.
And the movie starts here:
• Very complex interface – It has taken days to understand their interface and going through their documentation.
• Poor customer service - As we are unable to import data due to an error we have an open ticket to Blesta. It was taking one-two days for them for a single response to the ticket only by one person that is Paul. So you have to wait for the next 24-48 hours or sometimes even a few more days to get their response. It was just 3-4 days passed after I opened the ticket and import was yet not started.
• Aggressive and delay support ticket response – I realised I did a mistake that I paid instead of using a trial copy so I know I have to suffer from delayed support response. As import data was not started after 3-4 days I updated to ticket and ask to provide an update on migration status. No response.
Again next day I updated the ticket telling process is going too slow and no one is updating the ticket.
Soon I got a response from paul that complaining will not faster this migration process but they will move to the next ticket for another client. I was shocked by behaviour by Paul and retreated to buying Blesta but keeping some patience I provided him required details to start import data. The next day I got an update from Paul that the import data will be done by their developer and he will update once done. Then another next day I got an update that data is imported.
• Blesta Full of Bugs – After the data get imported I can see only hosting packages and tickets are showing but did not found customer domain. Again I updated to ticket and I have to wait for a day or more to that their response. And now it was almost 7-8 days just passed away in the import data process but still, nothing worked to make the system live.
The next day I got a response from Paul that import data is correct, I need to create a separate pack for every domain extension(TLDs) which I had already done. But still won’t show up client's domain.
Again I update that ticket telling me that I have already done this correctly but still client domain won't show up. But no response to that ticket. There was another lot of issue on configuring order form for hosting and domains and even domain registration, transfer, or I already have a domain option was not coming upon in order form of hosting service hence I have opened a separate ticket for each issue.
In some tickets, I was getting a response from paul helping me to fix the order form issue but never got a response to import a data ticket where clients' domain is still missing and now it was more than 10 days passed away I yet my billing system was not live.
No refund and no License- Finally after spending my whole 10 days we decided to stick with WHMCS and cancel this Blesta license. I open up a new ticket requesting them to provide a refund that it did not work for us and we have already spent 10 days configuring Blesta.
No response for 2 days. I updated other tickets asking for providing a refund. Finally, Paul responded and deny for a refund and closed my all tickets.
Again I requested that I have tried my best to stick with Blesta but did not work so please provide me a refund.
Finally, I have opened a PayPal dispute. Thank god I have taken few screenshot tickets to provide in the PayPal dispute. But soon after opening the PayPal dispute, they restricted my account and I was unable to login into Blesta account. So now no money and no license.
Even Basic Features missing in Blesta - I see some basic features like cant few invoices only edit and download option in admin. Can no auto-login to Cpanel. Invoices are not linked to client service. So we cannot find an invoice for a particular service paid by the client as WHMCS has.
In fact, lots of basic features are not available in Blesta.
Blesta Team – I guess there are hardly 4-5 people running this company. You will find too delay in support ticket response because of this. Only Paul was updating my ticket and it takes 1-2 days to make a single response or some never response to support ticket.
Today I recall the words of my late father.
