Big Byte - Unpleasant Experience. Review on Big Byte Bakers, Panjagutta, Hyderabad

This all happened last night. One of my close friend has been in Hyderabad for around two years. He has been a frequent customer of Big Byte. Last night, when we were driving to his apartment, back from work, we decided to buy some pastries. We bought four pastries, came home, opened the box and we were busy enjoying the pastries when my friend's wife noticed a COCKROACH on the fourth Pastry. We cross checked and found that it was indeed a Cockroach.

We called up Big Byte, informing them about the same. They promptly sent two people to our apartment. Those two people came, verified the Cockroach Intrusion to our pastries and apologised. Then we were told that there was a major pest problem with them and they had taken the help from Professional Pest Controller. We were very furious that despite the situation they were having at the bakery they did not take adequate measures to ensure hygiene at the bakery.

They had no answers and they just left without providing any explanation, they took along that infested pastry along with the other three. Ironically, they did not even offer to return the billed amount.

It is highly irresponsible on the Bakery's part which is enjoying such a reputation for such a long period of time. It might be just one stray incident but we had an extremely unpleasant experience and vowed never to enter that bakery again. Its not about the infested pastry, this is about the casual attitude shown by the bakery.

This is our experience with Big Byte. Based on this experience, we are not in a position to recommend this bakery to anyone. Thats unfortunate because they have been providing delicious preparations. But as they say, Hygiene comes first.
