PLEASE DON'T BUY ANY ELECTRONIC PRODUCT FROM BIG BAZAAR.
I want to share my experience of purchasing AC from Big Bazaar. On 6th August I went to Big Bazaar to purchase an AC at Avani Mall in Howrah. Big Bazaar's electronic product units sales girl told me about Koryo which is an in house product of Big Bazaar. She told me it is cheap because it is an in house product of Big Bazaar but the quality of it is good. I was aware that 15th August gives huge discounts on products and asked the girl if there is any discount coming up. She told me that was the latest discount for 15th August and so I booked.
Right after I booked and paid money(Rs.23990) I found the same girl explaining some scheme to another customer as I went and saw she was holding a leaflet and was explaining the customer about discount coming up in 10th August on occasion of independence day. I was surprised and asked her why didn't she tell me about it I would have bought it on 10th and I told them to cancel my order and return my money and I will make the purchase on 10th. But they said that I couldn't. I argued that it was my right as a customer since they haven't initiated the delivery I can cancel my order. Then after they realised that I was well aware of my rights they told me that they can't return me the money and cancel my order but they will make a new order on 10th and I will get the AC at the independence day discount price which was Rs.20990 and rest of the balance money I will have to make purchase from Big Bazaar. I had paid the money and I felt that I was on the back foot(and also I know the legal system of our country) so I decided to accept.
Then as told I went to Big Bazaar to get my order rescheduled. After making me wait for 2 hours they came up and told me to come on 12th. I was very disappointed and raised my issue with them again but they told me that nothing could be done that day and I will have to come again on 12th August.
I was angry but as I have already spent my money and I didn't want to be entangled in bureaucracy and legal tangle and agreed to come on 12th. Then I went to Big Bazaar on 12th, they made me wait for about 2 hours again and then I took some groceries with the balance money and rescheduled my order on the discounted money of Rs.20990. They delivered the AC to my home on 16th of August although promised to me within 48 hours. Then I have been calling them for days until today. Still, as of 23rd August evening, nobody has come to install it.
One guy called to confirm installation and told me that I will have to buy the angle/bracket which holds the outside unit from them which cost Rs.800 from them. The copper pipe foam wrap for Rs.350 and silver wrap over the foam wrap for Rs.150 and above all these they also charge Rs.250 for installing the bracket/angle which holds the outside unit. I enquired outside, the angle costs Rs.500 and the foam costs Rs.100 and the silver wrap costs only Rs.100 at most and the installation of angle/bracket for the outside unit is considered within the AC installation itself. So big Bazaar told me they will provide free installation during the purchase and it is also mentioned in their leaflet clearly that installation is free but they are unofficially taking money from me in a roundabout way. I accepted all the extra charges they are demanding but still as of now they haven't installed the damn thing.
I am really really disappointed with them and will never go to Big Bazaar again for anything. That's it. That's all I wanted to share with you all.
