This beach falls in the residential area of Besant Nagar which therefore became the name of the beach. Previously it was called Elliots Beach.
To visit the beach, private transport is mostly recommended since accessibility through public transport is a bit hard. All public transport facility is available but if we go in public transport we would need to walk for a bit to reach the beach.And to those who go by private transport, there is a well maintained parking facility available along the road.
There are a large number of temples and churches present within 1-2 KMs of the beach to go for sightseeing. Other than that there is a fun and unique place for shopping called "Maalgaadi", a spa called "Ananta Thai Spa" and so many other places to visit around.
There are lot of hotels available around the area of the beach with reasonable charges so accommodation during your visit to this beach will not be a problem if you are not from the locality.
Unlike marina beach, this beach is much cleaner with a lot less litter since there are less eateries available. Also, safety is not a problem until night time. However, staying till late night is not advisable.
