I confess, I am ignorant when it comes to some ingredients that are found in Indian cuisine. It’s not that I don’t like Indian food, I do, I love the smells and rich flavors that the fine dishes offer, it’s just that I never had the opportunity to develop my skills at preparing Indian dishes. That is, until I found this site!
First Glance
At first glance one can see this site is very easy to navigate with it’s simple layout and clear and precise topics.
Content
When you first go to the site you notice several examples of weekly menus. I love this and wish more sites offered this type of layout. As someone who enjoys the ease and satisfaction that comes from a weekly menu plan I find this aspect very refreshing.
The first menu you find is one called Saroj Cookbook. The Saroj Cookbook comes from Saroj Kering and consists of wonderful recipes that she has developed over the twenty years that she’s been cooking.
The next menu you see is Malaysian Dishes which this week included wonderful sounding recipes such as Pandan Chicken, Grilled Fish in Banana Leaves and Seafood Fried Rice.
There are also reader contributions and a large portion dedicated to health and nutrition. There’s even a section dedicated to Festivals and Festive Specials that even include Vrat and Bengali Recipes. And a wonderful reference section for looking up the meaning of certain ingredients. I must say this was a huge help for someone such as myself who doesn’t know all the translations of the names of ingredients.
And if you don’t manage to find the answers to your questions there is even a place to write in and ask Saroj questions.
In Closing
In closing I have to say this seems to be a very well thought out site that seems to have strived for simplicity and organization which makes for a very good site indeed.
