I made a trip to Barot in September 2018. Tucked away from the crowds and hustle, bustle, the small town is tucked away in the mountains with the Uhi River by its side. The place is ideal for traveller's looking for peace and tranquility. A road cum trekking route from the town enroute to Joginder Nagar is extremely beautiful and give majestic views On the other side of the Uhi River, lies a railway line which was used by the British in the pure independence Era. If you want to take the offbeat track, head to Barot. Delhi to Mandi is 10 hours and further from Mandi to Barot is about 3 hours. Traveling by bus is recommended. Stay at Sachin Home stay is recommended. A simple and comfortable home stay with nice and spacious rooms. But there are few drawbacks about the place. Firstly there are shortages of good hotels and restaurants in the place and mobile network seems to be weaker also. And lastly you have to travel a lot of distance if you are coming from outside Himachal.
