If it's a buffet meal, it has to be Barbeque Nation.
I knew this restaurant for a few years but never visited them thinking that there won't be much for a vegeterian like me. I was completely wrong. A cousin of mine invited me for a dinner at the Barbeque Nation Indira Nagar - Bangalore. Boy! I was surprised and shocked by the food there. Here is my detailed review of the restaurant
Location & Ambience - Bangalore has 2-3 branches. I have visited only one of them - Indira Nagar. Its very conveniently located just next to the Domlur flyover and does offer wallet parking. If you are visiting this place - make sure you have a reservation or else you could have to wait upto 90 mins in worst case scenario. The restaurant decor is decent with minimum fuss but everything required for a comfortable time there. Has ample seating space spread across two floors, but can be too crowded despite of that due to its popularity. They might offer a table in open waiting area if its too crowded but you should avoid that if you wish to eat peacefully. 'If you have a prior reservation' - Location and parking facilities get 4.5/5.
Food & beverages - That's the best part! They serve only buffet. The starters are served on the table and the tables also have live grills which is a nice different experience. Wide range of starters is served. Do not miss the 'Cajun spiced potatoes' which is perhaps the best pick for vegetarians. The paneer in all the items is good - soft & unlike lot of restaurants that server paneer similair to 'white color Natraj eraser' I used in school times. You can spend some good time in conversations while the grills get ready. The slow cooked grill is great in taste and you can enjoy good amount of food at this place perhaps because there is no soda in the food. Have experienced that some restaurants add soda to the gravy in buffets where the customer would start feeling full very soon.
The deserts are good too. There is a wide variety to choose from. The ice cream is limited to only vanilla and could leave you disappointed if you are an ice cream freak. There are however some gulab jamuns, pastries, kulfi etc to compensate.
I do not think that the starters are rotated or changed very frequently and therefore could be boring if you visit very frequently. However, if you visit every 4-6 weeks - it would turn out to be a great place to eat out. My rating - 4.5/5
Service - The service is best in class. Hardly seen any other restaurant with better trained waiters and other staff. The service is prompt and you would hardly get to complain while they serve starters on your table. Rest of the meal is buffet and therefore no service is required. Waiters are courteous and will explain you the ingredients of every starter that is served on table. Service would be rated right at 5/5.
Price - Its slightly over priced at about 600 (all inclusive) for veg and about 660 for non veg per person. The drinks are fairly priced starting from Rs 100 onwards for non-alcoholic ones. Its a bit pricey but for sure full value for money. I'd rate it 3/5.
Except the waiting time, 1 hr without reservation and 15-20 mins with reservation, this is the place to be. Try Barbeque Nation and your taste buds will thank you and you will thank me for the recommendation.
