.html">.html">What do you do when your boss (well for me teacher) shouts at you because you are lazily sitting on Mouthshut.com reading reviews while all the office work (for me homework) has to be done? You take a vacation…after getting fired that is :P (for me..suspended). And as we all know that the West Indies has always been a suitable place to have a brilliant vacation. However, out of most of the islands one particular which gives you the “jaw dropping” phase after looking at its really awesome surroundings and nature. That island is Barbados.

Let’s start off with a bit of the natural attractions in Barbados. There is the Harrison’s Cave which is a really fun experience, the Andromeda Gardens where you can just get a good glimpse of the real nature at Barbados and even the Flower Forest meaning a forest that has only flowers in it :). Other attractions also include the Animal Flower Cave, Graeme Hall Swamp and Welchman Hall Gully which are all unique in their own ways with nature. One of the newest attractions is Ocean Park which is a good experience specially for the little kids as they can gain knowledge about the different marine life, unlike me who is too lazy to see the little dolphins playing with each other. Check out Ocean Park for sure though, especially for all you people with annoying siblings, the sharks scary face will remain in your brother/sisters memory forever :) Beaches in Barbados are also very unique.

Cricket is the national sport of Barbados and sometimes you may find West Indians from the different parts of the Caribbean, such as St. Lucia and Dominica, who come to see some of the players, Brian Lara, Chris Gayle and Shivnarine Chanderpaul as well as some of the best bowlers such as Pedro Collins. The country has contributed a lot to the West Indies Cricket Team. Barbados will also host the final of the ”2007 Cricket World Cup” at Kensington Oval.

The people of Barbados are full of energy and life. When you see them, they usually occupy your mind with their unique speech, their looks and endless determination for enjoying life as happy-go-lucky people. You can call them more of sophisticated people. Barbadians are also very open (in a positive way) and love nature. They are really generous. Don’t think that when the sun goes down in Barbados, all the fun is gone. The fun continues from there. The night life of Barbados is varied, from historic dinner shows to cruises and exquisite dining.

The Night Clubs are located St. Lawrence Street and along Carlisle Bay feature some live entertainment as well. You will find bands play local music like calypso and reggae. R&B is also a must when you talk about music in Barbados. Barbados also offers some very fun shopping experience for visitors. Broad Street in the Capital city, Bridgetown is usually where you find the best shopping areas. Loads of Duty Free stores are scattered all around and a lot of shopping malls where variety and quality of products and service is provided. Just outside of Bridgetown, you will find the Bayshore Complex which is worth taking a look around for many of the historic items as well. Pelican Village is also part of the whole shopping experience as it is in the outskirts of Bridgetown. You usually find some really artistic handicrafts and paintings. So, shopping in Barbados is what I would put it as Interesting.

The lifestyle of people in Barbados is simple. People are rather happy-go-lucky. They are happy about how they live and never fuss. It is always easy to actually go upto someone and talk to them. They will talk to you as if they know you for ages and even if they don't ...it's friendliness all the way. Which is what most tourists look for when they come to the West Indies. Usually the atmosphere and places to go to are part of vacation. But there also has to be compromise with the people as well. Is all bout da respect :P lol...

Overall Barbados is an awesome place to go to. I got tempted to write a review. So wrote one :)
