If you are serious about your education, do not go to BUIE. The Unnayani in the name means Progressive, but the institutions is far from that. In fact, if anything, it is the exact opposite of that.
The campus is like an old colonial ruin and there is an air of lethargy, failure and boredom about the place. Students can be found, or at least could be while I was there, getting high in the least expected of places. The faculty and the administration is unbelievably incompetent. There is very little that happens, and the whole institution is blissfully far away from any research or innovation in technology. The hostel campus is straight out of a dystopian novel.
I had fun while I was there, but as far as proper engineering training is concerned, I got precious little. I wouldn't recommend it.
