Banaras Hindu university was founded by Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya in 1916. At that time there was no university in India which have variety of streams to study. In old times higher education was not easily available for a common man.
Malviya was firm determined to establish a university which provides higher education to all and have variety of streams to study. So the BHU has variety of streams . The best example I can give you that its offers courses in engineering as well as in humanities. BHU has established its benchmark in engineering also that's why it's engineering section has become IIT BHU . All courses of BHU are employable. The main thing which every student expects from its university is placement. BHU provides placement and employability in all its courses. BHU doesn't compromise with quality. So its entrance exams are not so easy to crack. In IIT BHU admissions are considered by JEE- ADVANCE ranking. BHU also offers courses in medical science. IMS-BHU (institute of medical sciences) offers courses in the field of medical science.
BHU also has a hospital named sunderlal. Sunderlal hospital provides advanced medical facilities. It's medical entrance BHU-PMT is also not so easy. BHU offers good and employable courses so it doesn't compromise with quality. It is firm determined to provide nation skilled manpower. BHU has established in benchmark in every field. This university is not only popular in India but also in foreign. Many foreign students are studying in BHU. But it is unfortunate of this university that it doesn't stand in top 200 universities of world. All these things are also depends on government policy about university. So we can't judge BHU on this university. I only say that none of the university in India are comparable to BHU.
